Late Bronze age c. 900-700 B.C. An excellent, scarce and good sized Bronze Age bronze bead unearthed on a Bronze Age habitation site in North Yorkshire and from an old Durham collection. Of a solid "doughnut shaped" form, with flattened top and bottom with a wide centrally drilled suspension hole through the centre. Possibly once silvered or gilded but now patinated dark bronze in tone and possibly one of many strung together as part of an elaborate necklace. Totally intact and in very nice overall condition, of good metal with nice surfaces 17mm diameter long x 14mm diameter at widest, a nice example of the type.
