Early Neolithic Period. 5000 B.C. An extremely Rare and totally intact Early Neolithic hand modelled clay mother Goddess Idol figurine excavated many years ago on on a major Neolithic habitation site in Northwestern Bulgaria and from an old Norwegian private collection. The figure is solid and hand formed from clay and sun baked. Typically crude in form with bulbous body, short stubby arms and head with pinched details forming the eyes and nose. On closer inspection the original finger prints of the Neolithic person that made the figure can still be seen preserved in the clay surface. Totally intact with no repairs or restoration, solid with good sound surfaces and in excellent condition for its great age. It is extremely rare to encounter a Neolithic clay figure in this condition, a seldom offered antiquity, 49mm tall x 54mm wide x 29mm deep.
