c.17th/18th Century A.D. An interesting and expertly hand carved solid wooden decorative hard wood plinth / pedestal featuring a flat back but well worked with leaf and floral motifs on the other three sides. Possibly one of a few similar plinth / pedestals which once adorned a large heavy and impressive wooden cabinet / dresser or similar item of furniture; traces of original dark pigment still remaining in places. Intact and in very good stable condition with nice surfaces throughout. Could easily be mounted or hung on a wall if desired, an interesting and seldom encountered antique decorative item, 112mm tall x 86mm wide x 64mm deep
