c.7th / 8th Century A.D. An unusual and sizable Anglo Saxon bronze buckle featuring the heads of two beasts found many years back in North Yorkshire and from an old Durham collection. This unusual and chunky "D" shaped buckle features the heads of two hounds or beasts, each holding in their mouths the end of the pin bar. Pin now gone but otherwise intact and good with an overall olive green patina, 29mm wide x 25mm deep x 8mm thick
