10th-11th Century A.D. Byzantine bronze half-section of a large Reliquary Cross pendant [Crucifix] which would have once had both a front and back section and being hinged at the base, would have been used to contain a sliver of wood from the True Cross or other Holy Relic and would then have been sold to Pilgrims whilst visiting Holy places or shrines. Slight damage to top arm of the crucifix otherwise this half-section is intact and in reasonable condition for its age, an interesting Holy item, 58mm long x 47mm wide x 4mm thick
