SOLD
c.2nd/1st Century B.C. A robust Celtic bronze cotter pin likely to have come from a Chariot, with chip carved line decoration to the head. Found on a known Celtic site in the Midlands and from a Staffordshire collection. Too small for a wheel hub cotter pin but most likely once used for securing part of the yoke or or other associated fixing. Intact and in very nice condition with a pleasant overall dark green surface patination, 48mm long x shaft 7mm thick and head 13mm diameter.
