c.2nd Century B.C. An example of Celtic bronze "Ring Money" found in the Midlands and from a Staffordshire collection. These bronze rings have been excavated Worldwide in Celtic / Iron Age contexts, often in groups and sometimes strung onto bronze bangles. These are widely considered to have been an early form of Iron Age currency. This example is intact and in very nice condition with a deep green surface patination, 16mm diameter, an interesting little item.
